This paper will describe the evaluation of a horizontal gas-condensatewell using numerical pressure transient analysistechniques. The reservoir contains near critical fluid whichexhibits significant liquid dropout when subjected todepletion. The paper will describe the experimental workperformed, its mathematical characterization and the matchingof both a well test and long-term production data with anextended black-oil reservoir simulation model. The focus ofthe work was to determine how the multiphase flow effectsimpact test interpretation and how liquid dropout would affectthe long-term production performance of the well.One of the important practical aspects was resolvingproduction data at different separator conditions. Thedifficulties in characterizing near critical fluids and theirimpact on the test interpretation will also be reviewed.
