The Danish Broadcast Corporation's domicile in Copenhagen will become an European ECOBUILDING once completed in 2006. The building comprises 125,000 m², and more than 3000 people will work daily in the sustainable office. About 150,000 people will visit the office buildings, studios and concert hall every year. A "Whole Building Design Approach" has been used to develop an environmental concept that - concerning energy - involves a hybrid cooling system with an underground cold storage, multi-functional double-envelope glass facades and the largest BIPV (1200m²) in Denmark. The ECOBUILDING is expected to reduce the energy consumption and CO_2 emission related to cooling by 75-80% and to integrate use of renewable energy and reduce energy consumption for basic needs by more than 30%.
