The wide array of experimental methods used to characterize the performance ofrnmodel aluminium cold rolling fluids gave fairly consistent results.rnIn terms of additive choice, fatty alcohol resulted the best candidate (or close to it)rnin all the conditions assessed, which is in accordance with widespread industrialrnpractice.rnIn terms of base oil composition, kerosene cut resulted slightly more performing thanrnaromatics-free kerosene cut, both being better than normal paraffinic base oils.rnKerosene cuts (aromatics-free or not) could thus constitute advantageousrnalternatives to normal paraffinic base oils.
