摘要

Physics of Failure (PoF) is one of the methodologies employed in the application of RAM-T Case to eliminate or mitigate machinery failures. This method has been used successfully in influencing the design of heavy equipment during the design phase. There are a number of tools and methods available for PoF analysis ranging from simple hand calculations to complex Probabilistic Failure Analysis (PFA). Analyses are performed to determine design margin, and screen components for application of PFA. The PFA method, its required Inputs, outputs and application are documented in this paper.
