The system serves as both a means of generating both B and T cells ex vivo for immunodeficiency applications and a tool to better understand the cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions necessary in the areas of hematopoiesis and developmental biology. Ultimately, both B and T cell systems will be integrated to fabricate an organoid that can be used to study immunological functions and perform rapid vaccine and pathogen screening.
