摘要

For the first time, structure was shown to influence angiogenesis and tissue integration of an ECM-derived biomaterial, SIS. Both the lyophilized and VP forms of SIS promoted angiogenesis and incorporation. The lyophilized SIS, with its open structure, promoted rapid angiogenesis while the VP SIS produced a delayed angiogenesis. Thus, tissue integration can be controlled by simple processing techniques and future biomaterials may be tailored for specific applications.
