摘要

Previously, fluoroscopy has been used to determine the in vivo kinematics during gait and into deep flexion. The results from these studies have revealed differing kinematic patterns compared to the normal knee. A multicenter analysis of over 1200 knees has demonstrated vast differences between implant types and surgical techniques. Although kinematic results are variable, clinical significances for variable kinematic patterns have not yet been revealed. Therefore, the objective of this study was to compare in vivo kinematics for various TKA to the normal knee and to enter this data into mathematical models that predicts the in vivo forces and stresses, that may lead to polyethylene wear and implant failure.
