Experimental investigations on sand plast brick masonry panels were conducted by applying cyclic biaxial compressive loading. Biaxial energy dissipation for five principal stress ratios were examined and compared. The biaxial energy dissipation was found to vary with the envelope strain and residual strain in bilinear manner. Empirical expressions were proposed for the relations between energy dissipation and envelope and residual strains. These relations indicate that the decay of masonry strength starts at about two-third of peak (failure) stress. This stress ratio is in close proximity of the peak stress of stability point curves.
