A relatively fine searching for the optimum composition of BaAl_(12)O_(19):Mn phosphor was achieved by Pseudo-Combinatorial Chemistry method (PCCM). The optimum ratio of BaO to Al_2O_3 was firstly found in terms of Mn~(2+) emission. As a result, the maximum luminance was obtained at the ratio of 1.3/6. Based on the host composition determined as Ba_(1.3)Al_(12)O_(19.3), the optimum Mn~(2+) content was also obtained to be 0.3 mol. Consequently the final composition was determined to be Ba_(1.3)Al_(11.7)Mn_(0.3)O_(18.85).
