To determine the Ⅰ-Ⅴ characteristic of multi-junction solar cells a close match of the solar simulator with respect to the desired standard spectrum is required. A way to achieve such conditions consists of using additional lights for correcting the spectral irradiance of the single source solar simulator in order to generate independently proper standard equivalent short-circuit currents in each junction. According to this, a procedure to measure multi-junction solar cells under equivalent standard conditions has been established at SPASOLAB (SPAce SOlar Cell Testing LABoratory) based on an analysis of the individual light sources used to provide the appropriate solar simulation for multi-junction solar cell electrical characterisation.
