摘要

Aiming at granularity research in the sand & shale sequence based on FMI image, the paper focuses on the image segmentation, automatic edge detect and contour tracing, starting with the summary of typical response of different lithology in FMI image. Then the method to compute the maximum relative diameter of the particle and estimate the lithology sequence is discussed. It brings the target of quantitative process of FMI image into reality. Finally two cases is used to verify the applicability of this new method.
