摘要

With the growth of traffic demand and the mature of technology it is possible to utilize 10 Gb/s system on backbone network in the near future ,especially for countries like China with continuous traffic growth of 40%-50% per year On the other hand,nearly all the fiber China have installed is Normal fiber (G 652 fiber ) which suffers big dispersion problem.To extend the dispersion limited distance we believe that the dispersion compensation employing the DCF technology is a easy and realistic approach and some experiments have been carried out and initial results show that DCF technology is effective technology for long -distance 10Gb/s TDM system transmission.The paper also identifies some interesting dispersion compensation phenomena which may help the optimal system design.
