1 Introduction Optical time-division multiplexing (OTDM) is one of the most promising ways of realizing ultra high-speed optical telecommunication networks. Such systems require all-optical processing to avoid the electrical processing bottleneck. One of the important functions is to regularize or regenerate multiplexed optical data stream in terms of their pulse period,pulse shape,and wavelength,in optical domain. So far,several all-optical regeneration methods have been demonstrated in the laboratory. These are based on semiconductor laser gate[1],fiber kerr rotation gate[2] and nonlinear fiber Sagnac interferometer switch (NSIS) [3] [4]. For semiconductor laser gate,the operational speed is limited by the carrier lifetime (~ns) [5]. Both the fiber Kerr rotation gate and NSIS have the potential of operation at extremely high speed.
