摘要

Product distributors must reduce retailers' ordering process times in order to successfully implement Quick Response (QR) in the chain of commercial activities. An electronic ordering system (EOS) is a time-saving approach for product ordering through the Internet and helps distributors increase the number of transactions. A current problem is that many store managers are adverse to new technology such as EOS and re-order stock by phone even though Internet based systems provide greater advantages. This research uses a survey to define the factors that inhibit the drug store managers' decision to order products via the Internet. After careful analysis of these barriers, a Web-based EOS framework is developed. The system is designed to automatically receive, process and store the ordering data in a distributor's database. The system offers a paperless and continuously available ordering service environment. The Architecture of Information System (ARIS) tool set is used to model and integrate the processes, data, functions, and organizations in regards to the barriers of adaptation. The end result is a technically advanced ordering process that is aligned with the end-users perceptions and needs.
