摘要

Detonating cord splitting is a quite common production method for dimension stone blocks, in granite and gneiss quarries, where the blasts are usually designed on the basis of local experience. The paper relates on a vibrometric test campaign, carried on in a group of gneiss quarries by means of accelerometric measurements at close proximity to the splitting holes rows, both in primary splitting and in recutting operations. Main objectives of the campaign are: 1. to detect, or to exclude, the possibility of impairment of the commercial stone blocks produced by this method; 2. to check the validity of the blast design criteria adopted by the quarries; 3. to obtain experimental data for predicting the friction conditions at the boundaries of the block and its expected displacement.
