In this paper, the reasons of producing blasting vibration are analyzed; The propagation characteristics and damage mechanism of blasting seismic waves are discussed. It is researched that the main characteristics of blasting vibration should be described by means of three primary elements such as vibration amplitude, frequency and duration etc. Their values rest with two great factors. One is the characteristics of the explosion source in itself, the other is the physics and mechanics properties of media through which the seismic wave passes. In engineering practice, blasting vibration should be controlled by exerting suitable precautions reducing blasting vibration according to above factors and being researched systematically in order to seek suitable defending precautions.
