Fluid inclusion study on the Yuzhna Petrovitsa Pb-Zn deposit, Madan ore field, Central Rhodopes, Bulgaria

Base metal deposits in the Madan ore field (South Bulgaria) are of both carbonate replacement and vein type. Fluid inclusions in quartz paragenetically related with the main ore stage have been studied in a systematic collection of samples from the Yuzhna Petrovitsa deposit. Several types of inclusions can be distinguished petrographically and their microthermometric characteristics were determined. Fluids are usually of low salinity (3.5 to 8 % NaCl eqv.) and the temperature of ore the formation is about 270°-330℃.
