~(40)Ar/~(39)Ar dating of magmatic and hydrothermal minerals (amphibole, biotite, K-feldspar, plagioclase, and sericite) demonstrates long-term calc-alkaline magmatism and hydrothermal activity (532-324 Ma) within the Aksug ore district (Russia). The main economically important Mo-Cu mineralization is closely related in time and in space to a porphyry series, emplaced towards the end of magmatic activity during the Devonian.
