Concept of sustainable development in Romanian tourism operators' perception

摘要

The main objective of this paper is to identify the awareness of sustainable development concept and its implications in the development strategies of tourism organizations in South Muntenia Region. Currently, the development of sustainable tourism is required in conditions which do not interfere with the quality of daily life of population of tourist destinations and which contribute to preserving local culture and traditions. As sustainable development represents a goal, it should be understood that any type of development which also include tourism development gives rise to certain changes in one area. However, these changes should be maintained at acceptable levels so that sustainability goal to be achieved.
