Numerical modelling of solitary wave propagation and breaking on a beach and runup on a vertical wall

There are still many kinds of laboratory wave flume experiments whose results cannot be accurately predicted. The difficulties associated with modelling one such case, in which a solitary wave travels along a flume onto a beach, breaks, and then reflects of a vertical wall in shallow water, are discussed here.
