The investigation shows that the Karlsruhe electronic nose KAMINA serves as an excellent basis for further development to become an efficient tool for rapid screening of organic pollutants in building rubble. It could help to decide whether incoming rubble is suited for further treatment in recycling plants or should be deposed as waste at disposal sites.
