PC's Master-Making System for Digital Automatic Printers: An Improvement on RICOH Digital Automatic Printers

The Digital Automatic Printer (DAP), a new type of light printing device, has two major characteristics: photoelectric scanning master-making and high speed printing. Based on the principles of DAPs, a direct master-making method using a personal computer can improve the quality of master-making. This paper proposes a new way of PC's master-making. This method is simple and direct, as well as effective compared to other methods. The basic principle of DAP is introduced first, and the general scheme of the system and its hardware and software implementation are then discussed.
