Review of Research Studies of Ergonomic Aspects of Selected Personal Protective Equipment Use

The results of research conducted in CIOP can be taken into account when developing instructions for manufacturers of personal protective equipment and their users. They can be a basis for working out criteria of product's evaluation with regard to the safety and ergonomics rules as well as guaranteeing the most possible user comfort. They enable Polish representatives to take part actively in the meetings of Working Groups (WG) and Technical Committees of European Union. It must be mentioned that Polish regulations do not cover the obligation for employers to take into account ergonomic properties of PPE when selecting them for workers. Such a statement will be created when the Directive 89/656/EU is implemented into the Polish law and it will be a supplement for the Polish Ministry of Labour and Social Policy Decree from 26.09.1997 (Dz. U. 129, pos. 844) concerning general safety rules.
