Liquid/liquid extraction(LLE) and azeotrope distillation(AD) sequences were studied for hexane-ethanol-water system. As a selective solvent, water forms a minimum-boiling azeotrope with hexane, which makes the LLE process different from the traditional one. The four-column LLE sequence was simulated and the effect of recycle amount of water was studied.
