In this paper, dynamic response of a laminated composite beam (LCB) on an elastic foundation subjected to a moving oscillatory mass with constant axial velocity is analyzed. Analytical (the assumed mode method) and finite element solutions of moving oscillatory mass are presented. Finite element beam models based on classical lamination (CLT) and first-order shear deformation (FSDT) theories with 19 and 21 degrees of freedom (DOFs), respectively, is developed. Couplings of bend-tension, shear-tension and bend-twist and Poisson effect are considered. Bending moment and beam deflection at the beam centre (DMF: Dynamic Magnification Factor) and under the oscillator due to oscillator velocity and position are examined. Possible separation of the oscillator from the beam during the course of the motion is investigated by monitoring the contact force between the oscillator and LCB. The effects of foundation, oscillator parameters and load speed on the separation are also studied.
