摘要

A multi-resolution analysis of polarimetric SAR data byrnmeans of wavelet frames is performed to characterizerndark areas in marine scenes. Polarimetric textures arernevaluated in the wavelet domain for differentrnpolarization states and spatial scales to characterize therndifferent dark areas. The adopted analytical tool is thernrecently developed Wavelet Polarimetric Signaturern(WASP) tool. Experiments on SIR-C/X-SAR C-bandrndata, related to oil spills, biogenic look-alikes and lowrnwind areas, showed the effectiveness of this analysis inrncharacterizing marine dark features.
