DEMAND AND CAPACITY SHARING DECISION PROTOCOLS FOR COLLABORATIVE ENTERPRISES

This study addresses demand and capacity sharing decisions and protocols for collaborative enterprises. Assuming each enterprise is a self-operative organization, enterprise collaboration needs to be carefully controlled to achieve mutual benefits. To find efficient demand and capacity sharing decisions among collaborative enterprises, distributed decision processes and coordination protocols have been studied. Furthermore, to ensure mutual benefits of enterprise collaboration, enterprise affiliation/dissociation decisions have also been studied. The numerical example and analysis indicate that demand and capacity sharing decision protocols can significantly increase the enterprise service level and the total profit of enterprise collaboration. The results also indicate that partial collaboration is preferred under certain demand and capacity conditions.
