摘要

With a renewed focus on rebuilding aging infrastructure in the United States and elsewhere inthe developed world, the proximity of vibration-sensitive historic resources to infrastructure thatrequires demolition and reconstruction is more likely to occur. The monitoring of vibration on ahistoric bridge resulting from demolition/reconstruction of the first of a pair of adjacent Interstatebridges was presented in an earlier paper. This paper presents the most recent installment of thecase study, preparatory to demolition/reconstruction of the immediately adjacent second existinglarge bridge. The multi-channel remote vibration monitoring system was re-commissioned tomonitor ambient and project-related vibration. Problems, enhancements, and benefits associatedwith the restart of long-term vibration monitoring are discussed.
