Pulse Oximetry is an important instrument in clinic. This paper introduces a new type of simulator, which can calibrate and test pulse oximetry. This simulator is a model system capable of generating relevant wavelengths optical signals similar to that pass through the human finger. These pulsatile signals can give different oxygen saturation levels, pulse rates and different physiological pulse waves. This paper also introduces a new method to obtain the empirical calibration curve for pulse oximetry. The data of the curve are got from the patients with a plumonary disorder instead of the healthy volunteers.
