The application of multimedia emulations to helicopter maintenance training

The ever increasing power of the Personal Computer and the wide availability of sophisticated graphics and emulation tool sets are allowing the training industry to develop sophisticated multimedia applications capable of achieving, on the desk top, those training objectives which were once the realm of the hardware maintenance training devices. These multimedia packages can take many forms including Computer Based Training (CBT) and Computer Aided Instruction (CAI), but it is the interactive emulation that promises to deliver the greatest potential for reducing the necessity for the physical training environment.
