Red tides GIS monitoring the Galician Coast

摘要

A Geographic Information System has been developed for hte Galician Coast, aiming to study the environmental parameters which govern the upwellign and downwelling episodes. Daily sequences of thermal iamges from NOAA-AVHRR, as wel las geostrophic winds calculated from pressure maps and coastal bathymetry, have been used in the prediction of toxicity blooms (Red Tides) inside the Rias.
