The Reliability-Centered Maintenance ( RCM ) theroy is a major milestone in the field of equipment maintenance. It marks the evolution of the traditional approach domainted by hard time maintenance to a decision logic approach which better fits the patterns of equipment failure and maintenance. Due to its significance, the RCM theory has seen wide industrial application in many countries and has become the foundation for maintenance practice.
