摘要

In this work a model for approximate estimation of the allowable radius of curvature (or allowable bending moment) of an underground composite pipe subjected to soil settlement is presented. Assuming that the multi-layered filament wound pipes can be considered as thin-walled composite beams under bending, the theory of anisotropic elasticity with the aid of boundary conditions are implemented yielding the limits of bending loading. Numerical examples are derived demonstrating the effect of fiber orientation and pipe diameter on the allowable bending moment for composite pipes made by the GFRP E-Glass/Epoxy material.
