An inventory of data from all major emission sources in Alberta is needed. The data is used tornsupport source apportionment studies where estimates of source contributions, at specificrnlocations, to the ambient particulate matter (PM) levels are evaluated. The results of the sourcernapportionment studies are used to evaluate source emission management on the ambient PM2.5rnand PM10 levels.rnThis study was carried out to provide inventory source emissions data on the characterizationrnof PM originating from gas compression stations.rnThe objectives of this paper are: 1) to describe with details the collection of fine (PM2.5) andrncoarse (PM2.5-10) particulates using the URG Dilution Sampler, 2) to provide information onrnmethods of analysis for heavy metals, water-soluble ions, elemental and organic carbon, andrnextractable organic compounds, and 3) to present the chemical characterization results.rnThe sampling method allows isokinetic sampling of stacks operating at high temperatures.
