Evaluation on the perception of the population in the Targoviste municipality concerning the environmental condition

The environmental condition in an urban settlement is defined by the quality of the main environmental factors (air, water, soil, vegetation), by the waste management, the quality of the green areas and the noise level. Using the questionnaire as a main investigation tool, through our research out in the field on the Targoviste municipality, we have evaluated the population's perception concerning the environmental condition in their area. The inhabitants of Targoviste consider the air and the water as the most vulnerable elements of their environment in point of pollution. At the same time, they complain about the weak efficiency of waste gathering, about the insufficient green areas or the high level of the noise in some quarters of Targoviste. A thing to remember is that the population situates on the first places among the town's pollution sources the industrial activities and the road transport. Among those responsible for the environmental condition, the respondents nominate on the first position the local authorities and then the citizens, who in the future will need to get involved more in the town's life.
