Mapping genes associated with various traits and diseases is one of the most important research areas in genetics. A major effort in the gene-mapping is “quantitative trait loci (QTL)”. Most of the existing statistical methods for mapping QTL assume that the phenotype follows a normal distribution and is fully observed. These assumptions are likely to be false when the phenotype pertains to the survival time or failure time. In this article, we propose an interval-mapping approach for a censored model with incomplete information (the failure of phenotype cannot be displayed with certain probability). The performance of the proposed methods is evaluated through extensive simulation studies.
