Design standard for railway shotcrete tunnels in urban area in Japan

摘要

Application of the shotcrete tunneling has increased in urban areas of Japan because of technological development. However, there had been no well-established design methods for shotcrete tunnels in urban areas. Then, a design standard for railway shotcrete tunnels for urban areas were established in March 2002, based on the investigation and analysis of several examples of design and execution. This paper describes the concept and some topics of this new design standard.
