Interaction of powerful pulsed streams of nitrogen high-temperature plasma and fast ions with low-activated austenitic steels 25Crl2Mn20W2 and 03Crl0Mn33WV and ferritic steel 10Cr9WVTa is investigated.Experiments are provided with the use of compact devices of the Dense Plasma Focus type PF-5M and PF-6 in the range of power flux density q=1×106-1×109 W/cm2 with irradiation pulses of nanosecond duration.Specific features of the interaction of these streams of energy with the above-mentioned steels are discussed for two regimes-with and without melting of the surface layer.
