Metal spinning is one of most effective technology for near-net shape processing. The spinning possibility of high strength and toughness Ti-451 alloy was studied. Effect of spinning temperature, reduction of thickness per pass, feed rate on quality of spinning products for Ti-451 alloy was analyzed. The range of starting temperature for spinning should properly controlled from 800℃ to 850℃. With increase of accumulative thickness reduction, the wall thickness decreases and spinning temperature should be properly reduced. Reduction of thickness per pass has effect on expand and shrink as well as accuracy of work piece. The proper reduction of thickness per pass should be controlled from 13% to 30%. The surface quality is greatly influenced by ratio per pass, of which 0.5 mm/r to 0.65 mm/r is for Ti-451 alloy. It should be noted that Ti-451 alloy possesses good hot spin forming feature; the accumulative deformation in a row will over 85%. The spinning temperature for final product should be controlled at lower temperature with less reduction of thickness per pass and feed ratio, which is effective way for avoiding bubble and wrinkle to ensure the accuracy for the size for the work piece.
