The cure kinetics of commercial acrylate optical fiber coating and of multifunctional acrylates in bulk were studied by real time (RT) FT IR spectroscopy, photoDSC, and by a cure monitor. Short irradiation of acrylates with a relatively intensive UV-light leads to significant postpolymerization until complete cure. A kinetic law describing the studied postpolymerization was formulated. It was also found that application of a moderate strength magnetic field accelerates cure.
