Reducing Marine Oil Pollution by Raising Standards in Marine Lubricants

Marine contractors of all types are operating in a global marketplace and have identified that good environmental performance and demonstration of their Corporate Social Responsibility is a key to successfully marketing their services. Many have accepted that they need to go beyond the minimum standards required by legislation, but there is as yet a great deal of lubricant egress into the coastal environment which is not quantified, with no measure of the environmental impact of these marine operations currently in place.
