Neither the topology, the presence of boundaries, nor the geometry of the original surface M are assumed to be known in advance, the most critical algorithm of surface reconstruction is the consistent tangent plane orientation. The paper describes and demonstrated an algorithm, i.e. by traversing the minimal spanning tree of the certer for tangent plane in depth-first order, assigning each plane an orientation that is consistent with that of its parent, so as to define a consistent global orientation for surface.
