The rapid prototyping technology of length-alterable line-scaning

the rapid prototyping technology of length-alterable line-scanning is a new method for rapidly preparing prototype parts, which produces a solid object directly from computer solid model by the selective simtering of successive layers fo material powder with a length-alterable line scanning laser beam. In this paper, the principle of length-alterable line-scanning and the basic process of this novel technology are given, the applications of such a technology in industry are discussed too.
