摘要

In this study, the change in longitudinal elastic modulus of braided synthetic fiber rope was qualitatively evaluated by UT, assuming that the rope as solid rod. As both the measured and evaluated modulus linearly increased with strain, it was found that UT can be used for evaluating the modulus. Next, in order to make the elastic modulus of the rope constant irrespective to strain, the network structure of the rope was stabilized by preload treatment. It was found that AE is generated by friction between strands when those are moved, and then AT can be used to monitor the change in network structure during the treatment.
