Prussian Blue (PB) monolayer was prepared on a gold electrode by a simple electroless dipping method, then it was characterized using cyclic voltammetry and UV-Vis spectroscopic method. The voltammetric responses of the directly modified PB monolayer show the presence of two redox peaks and considerable stability in KC1 solution, which are pH independent. The effects of concentration of supporting electrolyte and counterions on the electroactivity of PB monolayer have been investigated. The prepared PB monolayer on a gold electrode can catalyze the oxidation of reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NADH) in potassium hydrogen phthalate buffer solution (pH 5.9) with an overpotential of 100 mV lower than that at the bare electrode. Also, the overall process of the NADH oxidation at a PB/Au electrode was discussed.
