Caprera: An Activity Framework for Transaction Processing on Wide-Area Networks

Caprera is an open framework for designingrnclient/server applications that operate over arnwide-area network. The activity model ofrnCaprera used to extend transaction processingrnand transaction-oriented application in an openrnenvironment including mobile and remote clientsrnconnected by wireless, phone lines, or Internet isrndescribed here. Since Caprera enables off-linernusers on mobile platforms to interact with corporate transaction processing systems, TacticarnCorporation markets its product as arnprogrammable server software for off-linerntransaction processing (OFTP). This paperrndescribes the design rationale and the productrnarchitecture of Caprera.
