For optimal Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) measurements it is highly desirable to minimize system time constant and improve signal-to-noise ratio in order to improve sensitivity and peak resolution. This paper will describe in detail the development of a next-generation DSC sensor and instrument while providing several unique applications to emphasize the significance of time constant reduction in term sof improved peak resolution as well as enhancements in baseline stability throughout a broad temperature range.
