FUNDAMENTAL STUDY OF COATING USING ELECTRICALLY POWERED SLIDERS

In this work, we developed a trial coating robot and evaluated a relation between coating characteristics and surface textures. Our experiments were all performed under the condition of air pressure 0.3MPa, coating speed 50mm/s, under coating injection rate 4.5g/min, top and clear coating 3.0g/min. Under this condition, we found that the best number of coating operations were two for under and top coatings, and three for clear coatings. Moreover, we performed cross cut test and visually verified the relation between coating film adhesion and number of clear coatings or surface textures. In future work, we will quantitatively evaluate coating film adhesion by pull-off method.
