Impact load caused by dropped objects from nearby platform or tankersrnis one of the latent dangers for subsea equipments which are veryrnvulnerable and difficult to repair. Therefore a protection structure isrnnecessary for the subsea equipment to avoid impact load. This paperrninvestigates the subsea equipment influenced by the dropped objectrnimpact loads and addresses the determination of impact load in details.rnThe calculation method for the protection structure design isrnrecommended here.
