APPLICATION SERVICE PROVIDERS: ANALYSIS OF USER/PROVIDER BACKGROUND AND ASP SELECTION CRITERIA

One of the challenges facing CIOs and CEOs when making a decision to outsource some of therncorporate information technology (IT) functions to outside firms is the need to specify what to outsourcernand who to outsource to. The answer to these interrelated questions depends on a host of internal andrnexternal factors ranging from the corporate application portfolio to dependability and flexibility ofrnproviders. The purpose of this paper is to present an analysis of selection criteria that serves as a generalrnguideline to choose the right application service providers (ASP).
